2014 Don’t DIS my ABILITY

International Day of People with Disability is celebrated annually in NSW with the Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign. The Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign encourages the community to think and act inclusively, in all aspects of life. It supports the aims of the NSW Government by promoting community inclusion and recognising the rights of people with disability.

This year’s campaign which the Christian Democratic Party fully supports, is focused on challenging the public to re-evaluate the ways they think about and engage with people with disabilities.

Please find enclosed copies of official Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign materials.

This includes the ath edition of the annual campaign magazine Made You Look. Made You Look will be inserted into selected copies of the Daily Telegraph around the state on Monday 1 December. It is also available to read online and in accessible versions. Visit

The What’s Hot & What’s Not Guide provides facts about disability in NSW and some great tips on language and etiquette. It should help those who are afraid of doing or saying the wrong thing when interacting with people with disability. An extract of this guide is printed on one side of the campaign poster, which you can display at work or at events.

All of the information about what’s happening for the Don’t DIS my ABILITY campaign can be found on the website Get to .know the 19 ambassadors, read blog articles, download useful resources, and much more.
